Network issues and smart telly
Discussion
Please, i need help before start losing the plot.
Relevant information:
Complete Sky Q setup so have 2 mini boxes and main Sky Q 2TB box
Sky Fibre broadband, 40MB
The mini boxes are "supposed" to act as access points.
The problem:
My new telly that i bought for my garage conversion is very flaky and requires constant faffing to get any network connected services to work.
Investigating and looking at my router i noticed that it had entries in both the ipv6 and ipv4 but for the same MAC address. To remedy this i've disabled the ipv6 DHCP server on the router. This doesn't seem to have helped.
I can see the telly connected to the router, it has the correct network information but more often than not it will not stream from Netflix etc.
Telly is on the wall, but it's a thin wall with gyproc and wood, i'm discounting positioning as everything else i use in this room works 100%.
I'm leaning towards dodgy TV?
It's very annoying as when it works it works til i switch it off, then when i want to use it again i need to go through restarting everything and hope for a bit of luck.
TV is an LG55UJ701V with up to date software, WebOS.
If there anything i can install on the telly and let me connect to it to run connectivity checks? Similar to rooting any Android device but not actually rooting it?
Ta!

Does the Smart TV pick up eg Netflix via the SkyQ access of the normal wifi? I would have thought the latter..
My bedroom TV SkyQ is fine but the 'smart' was rubbish on my LG TV. LG wifi seems very weak.
Its OK now hat I have these powerline adapters fitted for the smart function:-
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Powerline-Homeplug-Intern...
( 2 x 2 paxks of 2 is cheaper than 1 pack of 3...)
LG Smart interface is still slow, but smart channels are 100% solid

Test it with an ethernet cable, see if you have the same issues.
This would be the first thing to check. Move the TV in to the same room as where the router is, connect it via ethernet and see what it does. If it works, then try again but this time remove the ethernet and use WiFi only. If it works then I'd guess there's interference between the box and the TV.
I've had similar problems in my home with my Nintendo Switch and my router. Moving the router about 20cm closer to the Switch made the world of difference to me in the next room.

This all day long - I bought a 10 metre network cable for a few quid from Amazon purely for testing a brand new Panny Viera last year. Like yours it was very flaky and I lost count of the amount of times it would disconnect and launch the 'connection wizard' - despite being 5 metres from the router, in the same room!My end solution was a set of Home Plugs, and we've never looked back. Bit of a faff as I needed to space the TV ultra flush mount out by 10/15mm to account for the plug, but, all has been very reliable (and quick) so far.
