Anyone happen to know the best/cheapest place to get one of those LCD/Plasma televisions that turn into a mirror when not on and are they any good?

Don't buy one!

All the one's I've seen made me look like a scruffy balding unshaven fat b@st@rd.

Wouldn't recommend them at all.

The way that the coating makes the visible screen look like mirror will make the screen loose contrast and brightness, neither of which are strong points of LCD tv's to begin with. Just imho of course.
