The add contains what I consider to be mistakes. I am not familiar with the racers to any extent, but I do not believe Porsche produced any specifically factory designed / supported 996 GT2 racers. They did race 993 'GT2' racers in the GT2 category in the '90s. Porsche only made the 996 GT2 from circa 2001 (not 1999 as suggested). The power figures are about right depending on PS or BHP of 462 and 483. Specifically, the capacity was not increased from Gen 1 to Gen 2 996 GT2, this is surely a gross mistake.
The car in the add does not have detailed mileage or provenance. It is what I consider to be a less desirable Gen 1 model (462 PS, different offset regular turbo wheels, not the Gen2 GT3 type wheel etc). It also looks like it might be LHD - but hard to tell from the one picture.
GT2 cars have not been selling at auctions at the expected £110K level.
This looks good value, but if it's repaired, LHD and has 100,000 miles it will sell for £65K.

agree good value depending on condition. i have last mk1 registered in uk. feel all porkies are getting overvalued but if i was in a position id look seriously at this car be great in retirement for visiting nothern italy and my buddy in Dubrovnik The car in the add does not have detailed mileage or provenance. The chassis number they have up for the car is also definitely wrong, a European spec GT2 should be WP0ZZZ99Z2S69****
Assuming the car is an honest FSH, sensible mileage car, then the guide is definitely a come on, mine was identical to that one, LHD, Black & Comfort Spec and whilst it was a nice enough FSH car, it had been used as daily transport and tracked often but still went to Europe for a decent amount more than top end of that guide and sold within a week of advertising.

Guide price is purely to get people interested and through the door. I looked at a car at Brooklands just before Christmas. It went for almost double the guide price
which car was that ?? and what did it fetch Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
