Anyone ever had any problems with this? Bought something on eBay a couple of weeks ago and opted for click and collect from my local Sainsburys.

I got the tracking number emailed to me and it said it was out for delivery yesterday and was delivered to Sainsbury's just after 5pm however i've not been sent a collection code. Called the store this morning to be told it hasn't arrived when i've got the tracking info and signature infront of me saying it has.

I'm not really sure what to do next apart from wait a couple of days and see what happens. I don't want to go through the hassle of getting my money back as i'd rather have the item itself.

Anybody any experience?

What did the seller say when you contacted them?

I haven't contacted the seller yet however I imagine he'll just say that from his end it appears that it's been delivered and signed for?

You've contacted the store, they haven't got it. You refuse to contact the seller because you're a mind reader and apparently know what they'll say. So what do you expect randoms on an internet motoring forum to do for you exactly?

In my experience you will be able to collect it monday, sometimes you cant collect from sainsburys (in or argos collection from ebay for us) if it gets delivered on saturday you can't pick it up till monday.

You will also receive tracking numbers on the monday.

In fairness when I phoned I could hear her walking about and checking for my name and said she couldn't find it anywhere so if I went over I imagine the same would happen.

The seller will check the tracking his end and see the same information, that it's been delivered and signed for in sainsburys. The collection code is generated by Sainsbury's and not the seller so not sure how your ignorant patronising response is of any help?

I had the same with some shelving . No collection code to pick it up from Argos but had allegedly been delivered. Sent some replacement shelving out only for the same to happen again. Checked in Argos and there was nothing there for me.Gave up, bought elsewhere and got a refund eventually (after Ebay sided with the seller). Easier to argue with Ebay about non deliveries if its sent for click and collect as there should be a nice trail to follow.

Again, what do you expect random members of a motoring forum to do about it? Your contract is with the seller. Ring him up, tell him it's not arrived, sit back and relax and wait for him to sort it out. Not difficult is it? rolleyes

I think the point was has anyone experienced anything similar, for example I said I have experienced similar and IT IS normal for this to happen.

Why don't you ps off to general gassing if you want to wind people up / be a annoying .

My original post said "Anybody any experience?" I know this is a motoring forum but after being on here a while one noticed people talk about other things such as politics, current affairs and other trivial things. I was merely asking for any hints and tips from people who have experienced similar situations, you know harnessing the wisdom of crowds and all that.

If I want advice on the best poster of a 1980's Ford Escort I should Blu Tac on the wall above my bed I'll be sure to swing my questions your way ;-).

+1 on the above. The one time I used it about 6 months ago I was given a delivery into store date of Friday. Excellent, I thought, because I can pick it up on Saturday when I'm in town. Saturday arrives, no codes received, nothing evidently available instore. Thought I'd leave it and chase it up on Monday. Lo & behold the codes and confirmation came through early on Monday morning.

I just put it down to it being that it was probably delivered late on the Friday and therefore wasn't processed until the next working day, being Monday.

Hopefully this is the case although just received an email from eBay saying they also see it's been delivered and they also called the store to be told that they don't have it so they are launching an investigation as well as Sainsbury's. If it has gone walkabout they say I'll get my money back so it's just a case of waiting now.
