Sony UBP-X800 - convert DTSDD5.1?
Discussion
I quite fancy upgrading my old BR player to a new 4K player. As a Sonos playbase user I am limited to what audio formats can be passed from some players so I want to make sure my new player can convert DTS to DD. I’ve seen on the sonos forum that there are a couple of players from Samsung and Panasonic that do, but as I have a sony TV I’d like the Sony player to match if possible especially as it’s had such great reviews.
So can anybody here confirm if the Sony UBP-X800 has a menu option which allows us Sonos users to convert DTS to DD5.1, so we can output to a playbase (that's connected via optical from TV). The UBP-X800 would be connected directly to the TV via HDMI?
If it makes any difference, my TV is a Sony XD93.
ETA - for some reason the PH forum stripped out a > in my subject title. It should read DTS>DD5.1.

I can't see anything in my X800 menu that would allow this, but I'll have a play later with a DTS disc and see if there is any setting that I can change that will get my AVR to show DD5.1.
FWIW It seems a good player; I've got a projector that can take a 4K input (JVC X7500), but I haven't got round to sorting out cabling and bypassing my Lumagen to try out 4K, so I just use it as a 1080p source for now. It plays everything I've thrown at it from SACD, DVD-A, CD, DVD, plus of course BluRay and (the one included) UHD.

I concur, having just scrolled through my X800's setup menus and testing a couple of discs. I set the X800 to downmix stereo or surround but when playing a DTS track, my AVR shows DTS. The DVD also has a Dolby Digital 5.1 track and when I switch to it during playback, the AVR correctly changes back.I've tried several things, but I cannot make the player to output the DTS track to stereo or DD.
I don't have the means to test, but I think some TVs can decode a DTS track and output to PCM. Worth trying this?
