What's this eupemism "buggy" mean, then?
Please share with the non-golfers.
Is it something Scruff would do, as in:
"Well Scrimshaw, I buggied the blighter on the 17th"
"I was playing quite poorly that day, I had to buggy me caddy to death over a number six iron."
"Caught the Secretary's wife buggying up in the bushes behind the 18th"
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera

I'd be up for that - depending on location.
If it was a 'posh' course, they would require h'cap certificates from folks (unless we promised enough money).
If we were to make it a McAdventure*, I'd be prepared to do a bit of organising... Mini convoy on some decent roads and scenery, plus a days golf somewhere nice?
Alternative would be middle of the country - Royal Lytham? Blackpool Pitch'n'Putt?
*just to shift the balance because Folembray and BTaP are a bit far for me, but still working on BTaP...

As a veteran of St. Andrews (BSc. 1981, ahem!) it would be lovely to see the old place again. I went up there 2 years ago, and it had hardly changed. If we get it right, we can go in summer, out of term time, and rent rooms in the student halls. St. Salvator's is the nearest, now that Hamilton Hall (overlooked the 18th. green, the building with a big dome on it), is a hotel again.
As far as the course is concerned , it is a municipal course, so anyone can turn up and pay to play, but only if you book months and months in advance, and then end up on the New Course, or Jubilee, not the Old Course itself. However, it might be different for a large party booking. It is a magical place, but the Kingdom of Fife has become notorious for speed cameras, I believe. There is a new golf/health club complex to the East of the town, but I think it's members only, and rich Yankee members at that! In Summer, the place bows down to the Dollar, and you're lucky to get a white puddin' an' chups, because of the swarms of plaid-trousered guys from across the pond.
Still, I'd be up for it!!

I'm pretty sure that various 'events' agencies would be more than happy to provide a choice of tee times if the party was sufficiently large. Would cost a bit, and I think there might be a h'cap bar. Be worth checking out, if there was sufficient interest.
Anyone else? (No, not you, scruff)
Why not have a meet soon anyway. A St Andrews meet is ok but would take a lot of organisation and dough. I would be more than happy to book us in to my club, any number between two and thirty would be fine.
Ted, why not have a PH Golf Day ? Could imagine a club car park full of PH cars, even Scruff and the other critics of the game to turn up in the evening for a shandy..

For golf. Easy, when I first became a suit I was an egg chaser. My then boss explained that by playing golf I would get at least ten days out of the office a year playing and drinking with clients.
For Chim. No explanation needed.
For both. Easy, too poor for a Cerb, and you can only get one set of clubs in a Griff boot.
For invites. You're more than welcome kind sir

My local club is Lindrick - golf afficionados will know the name - it has the distinction of hosting the Ryder Cup, way back in the 50's. I'm not a member but I know the Captain and Lady Captain, and several other members. (It@s also the former club of Lee Westwood's coach).
I could try - the course is beautiful in May, with wild orchids growing, and the clubhouse has a large, waitress-served dining room, gentleman's bar (separate facilities for the ladies!). It's near Worksop.
