Hi all! Just wondered if anybody knew of any Saab specialists in SW London - need to get my 9-5 serviced, and I need a new wing mirror, plus a headlight stopped working last week. ...

There's a Saab dealer in SW6, but I'm wondering if it would be cheaper getting it services at a specialist somewhere instead.

Thanks in advance!

Carlssons in Leatherhead have an OK reputation, not used them myself.

Cromwell Saab in Sydenham, but I have heard mixed stories.

There's a place in Ealing as well, "USES" I think.

You might do better to ask on SaabScene or SaabCentral to be honest, I get mine seen to in B'ham

Ouch.

Went to Saab dealer as I only bought the car 8 months ago, and it was a regular service. Quoted £300 for the service, which I thought was pretty favourable for a main dealer. Nice.

Dong! Needed new brake pads and discs (front AND back), 2 new front tyres, new rear exhaust section (+ joints), new headlight bulb, new gearbox oil, had excessive play in steering, headlamp washer not working, etc etc.

And a new wing mirror was quoted as £371 for compete kit plus fitting! Will keep hunting around the breakers then...!

Did all work except tyres and exhaust, which I had done at local garage. Equivalent tyres were £109 each, rather than £242 as quoted by Saab. Exhaust supplied and fitted for £175 rather than £270 as quoted by Saab.

Most expensive service I have ever had (and I've had a Chimaera and a Griffith). Still, the car feels great now, and I'm hoping that the MOT in August will be cheap as chips.

It feels so much tighter now - and stops better too. Thanks God, after all that £.

The Saab guys did clean it all over through, which was nice of them.

The price you pay to keep those main dealer stamps I guess...
