997.1 Turbo headlights problems

I have 2 issues relating to the bi xenon headlights on my 997.1 Turbo:
1. The self levelling mechanism when the headlights are switched on doesn't work i.e. the lights don't go up and down but the setting of the dipped lights is correct. However when plugged into a laptop with Porsche software on it, the self levelling mechanism does work. Is is the sensor on the car that's not working?
2. On main beam the offside headlight now points up about 15-20 feet in the air. The headlight assembly is one unit and it doesn't look as if the beam can be adjusted. All connections and bulbs look to be ok. I don't know whether the problem happened when I might have driven over a pothole that dislodged the bulb but it doesn't look from an inspection that anything is out of place. At this time of year it means that I can't see as far ahead on the car's offside on dark, country lanes as I could before the problem occurred.
