Hi and happy new year to all.

I am hoping someone can advice me on buying a Honda Stepwgn, Its a fresh import from http://www.japancarimport.co.uk and looks very nice, the company seem to be on top of it all and everything as far as I can tell is above board, My concerns are how easy is it to get parts for this car, I have spoken to my garage that I have used for over 4 years to service and repair my Land rover and they instantly said say away never get an import, My dad who uses a different garage asked the same question and there reaction was not as blunt and said they would be happy to repair and service the car but parts can be a nightmare to get. I voiced my concern to the importer and they said its a lie and that parts for these are very easy to get, they have even given me the number of the Honda dealer they use for all the services etc so I plan on calling them tomorrow to ask some questions.

I would very much like to no other peoples opinions on this, is it a myth or is this car really going to be hard for parts. I no insurance will perhaps be a little more and I would need to under seal the car but is there anything else I should consider, this is all very new to me to any pointers would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks and looking forward to some help .

I was eyeing up stepwagons for a while for my next purchase one of my concerns was parts,

There are a couple of groups on Facebook with some really knowledgeable posters along with a guy that supplies parts to the UK, often people post on there asking for parts and someone has them

Ive heard some Honda Dealers are knowledgeable , often several parts are shared with UK hondas

Ive heard windscreens car be a pain to get

On the plus Hondas are pretty reliable , although some have been sitting around for months - years in docks waiting to come over, so I bet some parts like bushes/callipers deteriorate

I don't know where you are in the country but County Cars in Kent sell & service Stepwagons/Elysions as well as Elgrands etc they've been around for ages & I see a lot of their cars around as well as them having a good reputation, I've dealt with them on three occasions & there service was great.

I don't think parts are a problem, my customers have been happy with the vehicles & service so I wouldn't let that stop you, but if you don't have a good specialist nearby then you may have to take into consideration that your vehicle may have a bit more down time than normal.
