Sorry if this has already been covered but i'm after some sites that I can enter the car, options, etc and get their best possible discount price on that car so that I can take this to a dealer and see if they can match it.

I tried drive the deal and Car wow but wondering if there are any better / easier ones where I don't have to enter my details too.

We've launched a new car buying service on What Car? with a trusted network of dealers. There are some great deals available depending on what you're looking for: https://www.whatcar.com/new-car-deals

The only other main one I know of is orangewheels.

I use DtD for price checking though. Don't know how Orangewheels works but I used CarWow and I'd say don't use them until you're ready to buy as they send your enquiry to dealers and they might think you're a timewaster if you make multiple enquiries over a period of time. There's also the issue that dealer has to pay them a chunky fee so that might limit the discount, although I have to say I was very happy with the deal I got through them on a new VW Tiguan with both our local dealers quoting, and I was able to get a bit more off face-to-face. I'd tried the other local dealer before going to CarWow and they were just being stupid.

DtD had a lower price but they wouldn't say who their dealer is and would only pass me on if I agreed to wait the factory leadtime - I got the car from the local dealer in 2 weeks (to be fair, it came quicker than they expected).

The fact that we now rarely pay the inflated list prices is great for buying new but it is sure making 2-3yo used cars, or newly launched models only available at full list against discounted competitors look like very poor value. Add in a scrapage vehicle and used looks even worse value.

I would love to buy a good value nearly new used car but feel the market is a little manipulated right now. The fact that most 2 and 3 yo cars belong to manufacturer finance schemes has allowed them to have a bit more control of the used market. Never would have thought that brand new cars could ever be better value than nearly new!
