I have an item up for sale which looks to have found a buyer. Asking price is £200.

I normally look for local buyers so they can collect and pay cash. However, the buyer isn't local so cash is out.

I've seen too many horror stories of disputes being set up by the buyer and refunds being issued, so want to cover myself. I guess this eliminates PayPal?

How long does it take a bank transfer to land and can this be recalled by the bank?

I'm going to take as many photos as possible of the goods and note any serial numbers, marks etc. What else can i do to cover myself?

Thing is, as a buyer, I'd run a mile if a seller suggested that method of transaction.

depends what it is from what ive found. sold plenty of bits and bobs over the years like this. works best for everyone, but i normally ask for cash. Didnt realise the OP was talking about £200, no need to for bank transfer really.
