Hello guys,
About to replace my EGR valve as I had to call breakdown when my EGR got stuck open when I was out and my car would not start properly. For the past month, on some journeys my car has been hesitant and would only run fine at higher gears, and everything I start my car I can smell my exhaust.
I have been looking for which brand to go with, I was going to go with HAAS for £75 but I've read that they're a cheap brand, so there's Pierburg for £205. However just went down to my local parts store and they quoted £88 for a Lucas branded EGR, he also said it was OEM, but I don't think they are? . I've tried searching forums but can't find any threads about a lucas EGR, are they any good? Would rather have something that would last a while.
Any opinions or advice would be great.
Thanks
Dom

Lucas are not the quality brand they used to be so it’s up to you if you want to take a risk.
If it’s a keeper then probably best to fit a good quality unit and clean it out once in a while.
Should give you years of trouble free service then.
