Emerald ECU & Air Con Problems

I have a emerald ecu fitted on my 4.5 Cerbera and have been told this is what is causing my air con not to function !

Has anyone else had this problem ?

What is the cure ?

Being a Six Sigma Black Belt I would have thought you could have come up with an effective solution...

How about calling the people who installed it to see what they think?

yes the emerald can't control the aircon yet .. there is a mod to fix it in the short term until the next software revision.

Who needs aircon??? the damn thing dont make a difference anyway... just open your windows!

If it doesn't make a difference, then it's broken and you could fix it. It may be nowhere near as good as a eurobox, but in the summer with a black cerb it made all the difference.

I suspect you may have had to buy the ecu from joospeed to qualify for their air-con fix ... joospeed customers get it free (only fair seeing as the mbe controls it, should work afterwards also!) .. seeing as I didn't sell you the ecu how does 250 pounds plus vat sound for the fix? what price do you put on your aircon?

Um, £250 sounds a bit steep for connecting a wire to 12V switch.

Reminds me of the story of the train and the hammer.

Surley there is more to it than fitting an auxillary switch for the air con.

it should have the mod already then .. might be something completely unconnected (pardon the pun)

look in the nearside footwell adjacent the heater control box to see if there's a 4 pin relay ...

I cannot see a relay in the footwell, is it hidden behind anyting ?

no it should be in full view attached to the heater control box .. maybe it was one of teh very first cars that we didn't realise would be affected by the upgrade, in which case it needs it doing to work.

It was Andrew Fowler's car and was done in Nov 04.

Beleive that was one, amongst other problems why Craig (cerber450) scraped the idea last year of having the emerald fitted. Good to see you have overcome that limitation Joolz.
