I am aware the full kit could be retrofitted by dealers- does anyone have any idea on current pricing, whether the kit can be split up and whether it is only available via main dealer? Thanks

https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/599-hgte... - UK secondhand sets sometimes appear - parts book at Eurospares should give current pricing if not availability

Have you tried a car with the HGTE package?

While the motoring journalists favoured the package due to the improvement to track ability I find the car setup in normal trim to be very compliant on the roads while being more than adequate on the track. I must admit I do like the HGTE wheels although spiders not far behind, if you want it to be louder better to go after market for real theatre, so the real question is do you want firmer suspension? If you have an '07 car I think the upgrade is worth it but '08 onwards I don't really see the appeal.

It was available as different parts ie ECU update, Handling kit/ suspension ECU, Wheels, Exhaust,

Retrofit did not include the seats.

Note that the engine/ gearbox ECU updates could not be applied to pre 2008 MY cars

I had 2 std cars and then one with the added HGTE package, have to say I much preferred the HGTE over standard

As above. Drive one and compare. we sell a few 599’s per year and the factory (rather than converted) cars always achieve a premium. Earlycars do not have the”sofast 2” hardware and therefore wil not accept the TCU/motronic software, to retro fit to an earlier car IS achievable and anyone handy with electronics can fit a clutch pressure sensor, alter the harness and carry out a couple of flash program instals.
