1980 BMW E21 323i

Another BMW I've got kicking about.
It's in pretty good condition, interior being very nice and original. It's got about 65k on it and runs well but can be a pain to start in the cold. Need to have a look at this (pre-heater suspect) but it's not a car I spend much time on to be honest. I took it to a couple of shows in 2016 after a service, replacing the radiator and thermostat (there wasn't one in there..) but that's about it. I had it up for sale but prices are a bit down since I bought it, either that or I paid too much..
Anyway, I'm going to have the calipers rebuilt and install a new heater panel this year and possibly pop it back up again. Or just buy some springs and wheels and make it look mad ting, fam.

Many happy miles - but the Capri seemed slightly quicker! Or was that due to my youth and enthusiasm?

I had 3 E21 323i’s one after the other in the eighties. Great fun but lethal in the wet. I remember a T reg silver one I had BGY 3T with Alpina spoilers, got a right tank slapper on after taking a corner too fast, god knows how I didn’t crash it. Followed the E21’s up with a couple of 2.8i Capri’s which definately handled better and felt quicker. All my E21’s started rotting out in the sides of the boot, rear wheel tubs. Great cars though. Really wish I had the room to store these old motors.
That is a lovely looking car, OP. What has gone wrong with car design?! The simple composure of this lovely little saloon is marvellous to behold. These seem very rare today: the very few available at any one time usually have automatic transmissions so yours having a manual makes it rather special.
My dad had an E21 320 back in 1979 (I was 4). It was his first "proper" car and he loved it and speaks fondly of it still. Interestingly (in the context of the discussion above) he replaced it with a Capri 3.0S.

Stunning! I grew up on stories of these as my dad had two E21s and an E30 (How rare those are!) They were his favourite cars, I very nearly had one too but I couldn't stretch to it. What a fool, it sold for £2500 about 7 years ago, the only car I ever regret not trying harder to get.
