Hi

Since last year (winter 2016) my finger joints have been stiff in the morning and slightly painful, sometimes feel like they are locked. Was fine in summer then came back winter 2017 and still have it.

I went to the GP in jan 2016 who referred me to rheum clinic and they don't think it's rheumatoid arthritis as blood tests and xray show no rheum indications. My grip was borderline at 25kg (iirc). The physio thinks it might be osteoarthritis in the small joints of the fingers but no definite diagnosis as she said she is not a doctor. They now seem to be focusing on treatment of symptoms rather than diagnosis. I say that, but next appointment is in 7 months with "let's see how it goes, bye!".

Symptoms are a creaky feeling in fingers in morning and evenings. Sometimes very stiff and achey, yet they sometimes feel very loose as in I can rock the knuckles side to side in all directions and it pops and feels a bit gritty occasionally. Neck also does the same at times usually evenings.

Thinking of going back to go and getting referral to private but not sure what to ask for. It's not massively bad by any means but it feels wrong and is not getting any better.. am I just getting old? smile

42 male. Any suggestions appreciated!

THanks
Mike
