Any recommendations?
Have some Bose ones one the decking and really pleased with them but bit pricey to use again . Building a Pergola at the bottom of the garden so looking for something around £200 ish.

These any good?

The Control X are good - a friend of mine has them.

I'd also recommend the Monitor Audio CL50 at the same price point because I love MA stuff.

As these will be a 2nd set of speakers can i install a volume control on them via the speaker cable? The amp has 2 sets of speaker terminals(yamaha rn602) so the Bose 251 are on one and these will be on the second.

Yes you should be fine, ideally you should try to match the impedance so as to not damage the amplifier.

I don’t think it’s that simple to add a volume control (could be wrong) The amplifier will be driving at what ever the amp volume control is set to, a variable resistor will get hot and or mess up the impedance matching , something like this appears to be designed to do the job http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...

As above, you need to use a volume control that is designed to maintain the 8 ohm load, what you need is an L-Pad Attenuator. You'll need a twin/dual if you want to control a stereo pair.

Make sure you get one that is rated to take the wattage you'll put into it, they get hot if you over-drive them.
