Sad news only 59. Cyrille is the second of Big Ron’s ‘Three Degrees’ to pass, after Laurie Cunningham, only Brendan Batson now remains. When they played together in 1978 it was the first time a top-flight club had regularly fielded three black players.

Very sorry to hear the news. Fair to say Cyrille stood out in the 1970's but for me, it was for all the right reasons, tremendous player with a thunderous shot on him.

76-77 was the year I got into football.
Mad about the game and seeing him at Hayes Town was an absolute joy - powerful presence on the pitch but a real gentleman off it. Regis and Hughes gone before their time.
