i'm selling a canon 1D for someone. It is in very good condition, hardly used at all. maybe 2000 frames taken, so effectively brand new. Battery is in probably 60% condition, it is a good three years old. I have the manuals and the battery charger. What sort of price should I be asking, about £1000? anyone interested?

£1000 is an absolute steal - I'll bite your hand off at that price... How do I pay?
To be honest with you, you should be asking £2k - you can get mint boxed ones now for around £2k+.
A quick flick on ebay brings up this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=97007&item=7509127388&rd=1
