Logo critique...
Discussion
Hi all, I'm in the process of setting up as a bookkeeper (and eventually an accountant) and have had the following logos sent to me by a designer - can you kindly take a couple of minutes to look through and let me know your thoughts and preferred design? Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I'm mainly looking for the logo to have on my FB page for adverts etc - I appreciate that most clients who are looking for a bookkeeper won't care whether I have a logo or not etc. The 'Cloud' part of the name is because I'm going to focus predominately on Cloud software which will (hopefully) make me more attractive to clients who are further afield.

In that case, why use the word books? I though only old gits like me used such an outdated word! (Gotta love PH...you come on for logo critique & get loads of other stuff
)I'd agree with most of the above; they're s
te.
The good news is I wouldn't give it much more thought. Logos are imo the single piece of marketing which start up businesses fuss over the most and yet have the least effect on punters. It's mental the time that gets wasted on them.
I'd go with a simple clean font and no logo as such. And I'd revisit that name, it's horrendous. If I hadn't read the thread I'd have thought you were some sort of Amazon clone selling books/audiobooks/ebooks or something.
It really doesn't have to be much more than
James Smith Bookkeeping Services
We do X to help you Y.
A tagline like that explains so much more to your prospective punter than any poncy logo can ever do. Clarity is everything, and the responses here demonstrate your logos are far from clear. Go on something like vectr.com and play about with fonts and wording. Get what you want and create a png/jpg. 'Logo' done, zero cost.
Does it come across that I hate everything to do with small business logos? Hopefully!

That's exactly what I thought.technodup said:

I'm an accountant and I can't think of any of the small independent book-keepers we work with that have a fancy logo - they have something similar to what technodup is suggesting.James Smith Bookkeeping Services
