Had a scam email earlier which has me slightly concerned...
Basicall email pretending to be from me to accounts asking to pay an invoice immediatly.
Email is sent from. My name@mydomain name and to accounts@mydomain name.
The domain name is exactly the same as mine, howeven i dont have an email address with my full name as they have in this email.
I have checked, and as far as i can tell no one has hacked in and created new email addresses.
So how have they made it look like it originated from my company?
Anyone any ideas?
Oh and no it didnt get paid

Email spoofingAs well as all the stuff above to stop people being able to spoof your domain name, get your accounts department (and the whole business) some training and awareness on how to spot these things.
You can't control what your customers and suppliers do so imagine the email was from a supplier with a "change of bank details for future payments" etc.
