LG tv edge shadow

I purchased an lg 43uj634v tv the other week and am generally very happy with it but I have noticed that there is a slight 1 inch thick shadow on both the left and right hand sides of the picture, is this normal with this type of tv or is mine faulty?

It’s annoying as now I’ve noticed it it’s bugging me when I watch.

Would be interesting to hear if other people have noticed the same. If so will a settings change help or should i return it for an exchange?

Have you switched the LED local dimming off?

It was the first thing i did with mine.

I'm not sure to be honest. I had a look for a local dimming option in the settings last night but couldn't see one, what is it called on yours?
