can anyone help. Despite having a radio fitting kit fitted in my Elise, the previous owner hasn't fitted a stereo so has not got the 2 piece dash that comes with the kit - instead it has the 1 piece dash fitted right across. Before I take a blade to the dash, does anyone know where I can buy the 2 panels? - ie the one to the left of where the radio sits and the one to the right that fits over the heater controls etc

Any Lotus dealer should be able to supply these parts. Don't think they're horrendously expensive either.

i had the same problem, why have the radio kit if your not going to fit a cd player???
anyway i went to my local dear and payed about £26 for one and £24 for the other!
use a credit card or something simular to remove the current dash panel (can be a little tricky) then just squeeze the new unit in place, when u get the new units u will see how they install which makes it easier to remove the old unit.
GOOD LUCK! THE MUTT.

blimey - £50 for 2 bits of plastic! At least I know I can get them anyway. Might see about making them myself by nabbing the 2 piece version off a mates car to use as a template and then cutting the one in there....

will have a butchers but if all else fails I know I am "only" £50 down.

Or you could be a complete GJOB and go for the Eliseparts carbon fibre ones for a few hundred notes.

Looking forward to hearing about the car after your first weekend with it. Plenty of pics as well please.

You can take a look at the dash in mine for £49 and I'll lend you a saw

seriously though Rich - I am going to compare the 2 dashboards and if its just a case of 2 cut pieces with 6 inches missing in between I am tempted to ask you to remove yours to fabricate my own using the original.

see you at the pub
