the new Daniel Day-Lewis film has a car that he drives like a maniac.t I should immediately recognize it ..four door sports saloon that might be an Aston or Lagonda, early fifties, central spotlight in middle of grille. I would say definitely British. For some reason I have a mental block. Should take PH about ten seconds.....

It's the same 405 that was in "An Education" (and various other stuff).

The Bristol in the picture above is parked in Lythe, search North of Whitby and you will find mention of the place on maps, much of the filming was done up here, including in our village (not Lythe but near by)...

Sorry for the derail!

The only 4-door Bristol, I think - I remember trying to persuade my fleet manager many years ago that it conformed to the "no 2-door cars" policy at the time. Probably just as well that I failed.

It looked familiar and then I remembered we had a stop/checkpoint there during The Flying Scotsman rally in 2015.

And here’s my ND AE30 in the location from “The Phantom Thread”. A beguiling film also using Robin Hoods Bay in one of its longer scenes.
