Hello people.

Can you help me please, where can I buy a Monaro 2005 bonnet (the one with the 2 vents in it)
& the Monaro 2005 front bumper (with the twin fog lamps)

Stu Harris mentioned that they were bringing over a few spares for people to upgrade with. I suspect the bumper may be an arse to swap but the bonnet is a piece of cake.

I had an unfortunate ding on Friday and need new headlight and poss new bumper. I have 04 CV8 and asked about front bar for 05 at Vauxhall dealer (big one in Bristol who have x2 05VXR demos!).

They reckoned not in country yet and it would be a several week turn around order from Oz. So I am sticking with 04 for now.....but you can get them just depends on when you want it and how much you are prepared to pay! Picador might be better placed from previous experience but I suspect all dealers wil be exposed to same supply issues.?

You will need new headlights and some wiring changes as well as the new front bar and bonnet.....

OH.... and a budget of approx £4000 to do the lot!!!!!!

I can do you a new 05 bonnet painted and fitted for £550 inc VAT the bumper will be a lot more involved and probobly cost prohibitive, might be worth looking at a VXR bumper this looks on thface of it to be less hass.

I have looked into the price of a VXR front bumper assembly and was a little surprised at the price of £1233 plus VAT, plus painting, plus the fog lamps (£67). I am also concerned that there are a number of other bits listed that may need to be made available to effect the replacement.
What I'm saying, i think, is it sounds like a lot of dosh even if I majic up Picador's 'Mates Rates'.

How's about just the bonnet without the front bumper (which I personally think is quite ugly on the 05). How does that work out?

mossepig thanks - I had read that but I was under the impression that the light fittings were different on the 05 Monaro?

Bonnet can be swapped without changing the lights......but the front bar needs a lot of new/different parts

Thats why I'm going to change the bonnet for the 05 & that price.

I must admit though I never noticed the lights were different between the 04 & 05 models.....

We are talking headlghts arn't we ?
