Tight Budget - Need Advice

Hi guys. I'm looking for some help in deciding what car to get. At the moment I drive a Hyundai i30. I'm on a pretty limited budget, £2500 max. The main things I'm looking for are:

- 5 doors
- Decent boot space (occasional trips to the tip as well as carrying things like guitars and an amplifier)
- Relatively low insurance (Current car is insurance group 13, £791 annually so anything around this figure or less is feasible)
- Reliable
- Comfortable ride (the roads around my area aren't great. The Hyundai isn't so great with speed bumps and cracks in the road)
- Economical (Currently averaging 43mpg so anything around this figure would be alright)

I've seen some Golfs, Polos and Focuses on Auto Trader and I think these might tick some of those boxes. If anyone has any suggestions throw them at me.

My car history is far from spectacular (Suzuki Swift Cirrus, Nissan Almera Tino, Fiat Punto and the Hyundai). Bonus points for anything that has a pleasant interior. Rush hour traffic in the bland Hyundai interior isn't pleasant.

That Mondeo estate that ZX10R NIN posted looks like a nice beast.

The Focus is a nice car too. Just avoid the 1.6 diesel. A 1.8 or 2 litre petol will go on for years.

Thanks for that. There's a few Mondeo's and Vectra's knocking about on AutoTrader up here (North East), looks a decent shout. I checked the insurance as well, I turn 25 at the end of the month. If I can get a policy starting February the premium seems to be around my budget as well so that's pretty neat. Cheers
