Nippy, economical car budget £4k

Hello, I am looking for a hatchback that is nippy but good on fuel. I have a budget of around £4k and I'm hoping to find a car in this price range, preferably on the lower side. I have owned a fiesta zetec s mk6 so do not want to own another one.
Must be a petrol. I don't know what the future will hold but for now I only really use a car to drive around town. But may end up using it delivery work.
Any ideas?
