E61 LCi?

Hi,

Just going through a few adverts. Was keen on this but noticed the iDrive wheel differs from other cars i had seen.

I thought the LCi update was 2007? It has the face-lift electronic gear lever.

VIn date shows 13/02/2008

Can anyone clarify?

I have a LCI E60 build date May 2007 and it looks exactly the same. Build date should be on a sticker under the bonnet. IIRC LCI was from March 2007 on.

Actually LCI start build date was different for the E61 but I cannot remember when.

Yeah it’s fine, most lci cars have the older I drive, new one was introduced ~2010 so only the latest ones got it.

Cic idrive was September 2008 onwards.

The LCI update did not bring the updated iDrive controller, which came slightly later. My E61 is an '09 and from memory the build date is Oct '08. It has the new controller, but still the CCC iDrive.

I think the CIC iDrive came right at the end of the E60/1 run.

I hope that's right.

I was close, I think it was actually models built from November 2008 onwards in Europe that got the cic.

3 series was September 08 onwards

Bit confused on the terminology.


The cars I have seen and I think I want are 08/09 models. they have a circular controller with buttons directly in front of it.

The query with the vehicle listed above is that there are no button even thought is it Feb 08 (maybe that is 1st registered date)

Should it be discounted or are the changes minimal i.e just the buttons?

Mine was a month out, annoying. I'd be quite interested in updating mine to CIC if it's not too expensive
