E46 Towbars? 330ci sport
Discussion
I have a X-reg 330ci sport and would like to fit a towbar.
Are all e46 tow bars the same, and or is the saloon the same as the coupe? Obviously new prices are a lot more than the examples on ebay but without knowing a bit about what you are looking at you could drop money on a pile of useless bits.
My dream would be detachable flange mount, but they appear rare at the best of times.

Have a search for your car on Witter, Brink, Tow Trust and related sites - get the model number for your towbar.
Then put a saloon or Touring in to check for the same part number.
On my old Touring's, I had to cut the bumper to fit it on, so bear this in mind when looking. Some makes need bumper cuts, others don't.
You can usually download fitting instructions from the Manufacturers website, and it will tell you on this if a cut is required, and if its visible or not.
From dim and distant memory, Saloon and Touring's are the same, but the Coupe's are different (but I could be wrong on this)

That's a good shout. I'll have a go on that. Then put a saloon or Touring in to check for the same part number.
Aware that some are bumper cut others are not. Don't mind a small cut right on the underside, but not something that will be visible when removed. I've done towbars on quite a few cars (Pug306 which was a cracking detachable flangmount job, E36 compact which was fixed but a bit of a towslag) but finding less availably for the e46.
Thanks
Daniel
