I want to hope they're really good! I think I've read that they do put on quite a show.
Tough, isn't it, there's the whole "never meet your heroes" thing. When I was a nipper, I went to see Sister Sledge (Chic-Lite
) and I'm sure I enjoyed it, but as much as I have all the time in the world for Mr Rodgers and what he's done and achieved, I watch the NYE gig and thought it was a pale imitation of what I remember.

I think the room we were in wasn't designed to move sound around very well. Wow, what a brilliant gig. They were amazing, Even Ron cracked a smile, and got up from the keyboards and had a dance.
I thought the roof was going to come off when they did No 1 Song In Heaven, followed by This Town Ain't Big enough.
Jesus, they're 69 & 72. I was shattered this morning, Christ knows how they do it.

My dad had quite odd taste in music as i was growing up, especially during the 70,s,i would be subject to Offenbach, then Chopin next day, then Tangerine dream and Jean Michelle Jarre, next day Beethoven, bit of Liberace and then a Sparks album turned up, really caught my imagination, it was the album with them standing beside an aeroplane?
Always remembered the track Pineapple, stuck in my head! :-) It always surprised me my father never touched a drug in his life, some of his albums would suggest otherwise....
