my new clubsport has what I think is called the dry-break refueling system. It has a petrol container that you push on and a breather that you also push on the let the air out.

I filled up for the first time yesterday and all seemed ok until it er filled up. Then I got a big puddle on the floor. I assume this is no sposed to happen!

Anyone any ideas about this? Do I have a leak or lack of technique. I assume that the dry bit is sposed to be exactly that.

Unfortunately I didn't get to try out my new steed at Brands today for some rather pathetic reasons. Hey ho. At least it's full for the next time :-))

Graham, thats not a problem, just means that it is full and the excess fuel is draining through the overflow pipe.

Tony, what that means is that you can't fill up with the system without a big spillage which I thought the dry break system was sposed to avoid. Or do you just have to whip off the breather as soon as it is full?

Correct, but we always drain our tank before filling it up again so depending on what size tank you have fitted you will know when it is near full so we just keep an eye on that to reduce the potential overfill !

ok, thanks for that. I started off full and had no idea how much I had used in 3x20 min track day sessions. I had used about 16 litres.

Do you pump out the fuel using the fuel pump? If so, how long does that take?

Graham, you pump out the fuel using the pump, your car may have a drain valve fitted to the fuel line? If not these are available from Radical & save taking the fuel hose off near the hot exhaust!!

You only want to run with a minimum fuel load as it all adds to the loads you are subjecting the car to.

yep, there is a drain. I was trying not to run out of gas and work out how much I was using in the normal full-to-full tintop stylee!
