Digi Camcorder £300ish?

Hi all,

I've been looking into a digi camcorder for around £300.

Current favourite is the Canon MV830i. Mainly by the fact its a Canon (i'm happy with both my Canon cameras) and having a quick demo of one showed its ease of use.

I'm a beginner so want something thats easy to use, other than that I'm open to suggestions. Anyone own this model or recommend an alternative?

FWIW, I bought a Canon 700i (I think!) a few weeks ago, and I'm chuffed to bits with it (other than the lack of a remote control, which was my fault for not noticing it didn't have one.)

I'm also quite pleased with Windows Movie Maker...
