LG WebOS 3 - updates?
Discussion
I'm in trouble.
A while back, we bought a SmartTV. LG 32LF580V. There's no ITV or Ch4 app on it. The browser on it won't even let you watch stuff from their websites.
It's on autoupdate, and has the current software installed. WebOS 3, firmware 3.11.33, Chrome 22, Flash 11.1, apparently.
Short of plugging a tablet in via HDMI, what's the best way to watch catch-up from those missing channels...? We don't watch much TV, so I have no desire to lob ongoing money at Netflix etc. But when she DOES want to watch, it's my fault she can't...

So these are both donglythingies that plug into a USB port on the TV, and give me access to the OD back catalogue of both ITV and Ch4?
Any real difference, any reason to go for one over the other? (Other than one's twice the price of the other, obviously...)
The TV itself does iPlayer, Ch5, Netflix, Prime, NowTV... so it really is just those two that I'm missing.

You've said they are missing, you've tried to watch on the websites via the browser but have you tried going to the LG store section and installing the missing apps from there?
The what section?<goes for a rummage>
"LG Smart World"?
<flips through>
Christ, what a pile of random ol' toot... No, no Ch4 or ITV in there. I did find a Ch5 app hidden in the "Premium" bit earlier on, but that was the only one.
If the apps don't exist for WebOS then getting them is going to involve plugging something into your TV, whether it's a Roku, Amazon Fire or something else. The Roku Express is £30, I can't think of any other way that is significantly cheaper, unless perhaps a second hand Android TV box off Ebay?
