So I am looking at possibly getting a Lexus IS250. As I want to sell my Mini Cooper Park Lane. Just a few questions:
- Which spec I am best looking at?
- I have read that an Semi- Auto would be better than a Manual, its cheaper on the road tax.
- What is everyone's running costs? - I do about 6k a year
- Any issues to look out for?
- Service Costs etc?

You driven one?
For me, it cost practically nothing to run, Lexus offered exceptional customer service, it was very refined, it handled ok, but it was the dullest Car to drive I’ve ever owned, and pretty thirsty for the limited performance offered.
No I’ve not driven one. Fuel doesn’t look too bad. I’m mainly looking at it for it’s reliability. For me, it cost practically nothing to run, Lexus offered exceptional customer service, it was very refined, it handled ok, but it was the dullest Car to drive I’ve ever owned, and pretty thirsty for the limited performance offered.

I ran for one for a couple of years and it cost buttons - never broke down, not even so much as a niggle. Lexus serviced it for a couple of hundred quid, including collecting it from work and returning it clean and the work performed the same day.
They’re certainly reliable.
Sounds good, what model did you have? They’re certainly reliable.

Auto every day of the week.
6 speed auto, with two split gear ratios, effectively make it an 8 speed box.
The auto box is a peach, always in the right gear.
The 2,5 L V6 is a superb peach of a smooth engine.
I do 42 miles a day, 5 days a week.
30 of them miles is motorway.
7 miles is good A roads
Rest is little roads and avenues.
Not uncommon to see over 50 mpg on an empty motorway, but normally gets around 53 mpg, when at 1800 rpm
Drop the speed and revs to 1600, and fuel consumption go's up.
The ultimately best speed, and I have done this test time and time again, is when the tacho is on 1800 rpm,
This gives around 63 mph
Has the sport mode, and the winter mode.
Has the flappy paddles.
But for me it always stays in drive.
Getting an very easy 47 mpg, with cruise set at 65 on the motorway.
Overall, they as superbly super silky smooth and quiet.
Totally reliable
Over in Germany last summer, it will put 140 mph on the clock, which is a real 135 mph quite easily.

Mine is available end of March.

That looks lovely. I do about 20 miles a day, for work mainly just dual carriageway and normal roads. Also do some motorway driving on the weekend.Auto every day of the week.

I like the colour of yours, what’s the model if you don’t mind me asking? Also what price would you looking for it?
Thanks,
It is the 250 IS
First registered 06-09-2007 making it a 57 plate.
A two previous owner car.
Bought new by first owner, was a woman director.
2nd owner was a guy in Manchester who only had it for 3 months.
Then me, had it 2 years in April.
I will be given a new works van in April, fully funded fuel etc.
Wife has a nice Honda Civic, and is so used to it, she just loves her Honda.
