I purchased a TW Steel watch just over a year ago, and just lately I have had problems with the spring bars coming out I have had them replaced at several different jewellers but the problem persists so I contacted the manufacturer and they arranged to have the watch looked at, at their service centre just got a email from them saying the reason the spring bar wont stay put is because the strap is worn and want £63 to replace it ! now I haven't worn the watch a great deal and for them to say the strap is worn is utter bxl if you ask me. your thoughts are welcome .
You can get plenty of good quality straps for far less than £63.
Usually the strap will be marked with a width, or just measure it across and then look on eBay or here - http://www.ukwatchstrap.co.uk/ - for a strap you like - Everything from £5 up!
Maybe buy something cheap and see if swapping it resolves the problem?
Timpsons will probably swap it for a fiver, if you don't feel up to it yourself or buy a tool from eBay, tape up the watch lugs and back, to avoid scratching, and do it yourself.

PS I would agree with the last post though, springbars HOLD the strap, not vice versa...

You can get a new strap for less than the £63 you've been quoted, but presumably you'll still have the same problem with the spring bars.
Could be a few different causes for the problem - is it both bars or just one?
If it's just one it could be that the hole in the case lug has been damaged somehow so that the bar won't stay in.
If it's both, are the bars some weird size? Could the diameter of the sprung bit be too small so that's loose in the lug, or too big so that it's just resting in place and not fully sitting in the hole?
There isn't really much to go wrong - I'd get the watch back, fit the spring bars to the case without the strap on them and see if you can suss out what the real problem is.
