2006-2008 Merc S Class opinions please

I can't help much with a reply but will keep an eye on this thread.

I'm soon to be doing 260 mile round trips and my E320 is great but always on the look out for the next car. I'd been considering the S320 from around 2006/2007. Has the newer 3.0 V6 diesel and 7 speed box compared to my older 3.2 straight six and 5 speed box.

Just seem like that step up in comfort and space and even a sub-£10k example can be had without silly miles on it.
