Good Morning,

I'm hoping someone here can help or at least point me in the right direction. My Sat Nav screen recently went blank, I figured it would sort itself out after a restart but no, still lifeless.

I check the fuses and F49 is blown so I figure that's my problem! Yay!

Only to replace it and it goes bang instantly.

I was thinking of "resetting" the car and replacing the fuse while the battery was disconnected and see what happens.

Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Or know where I should be going to diagnose the fault?

Cheers for any info!

My guess would be a short in the wiring loom somewhere, maybe there's a common place for the Z4's loom to rub on bodywork?

When you say socket which one are you referring to?

Do you mean the cigarette lighter?

Check the loom going to the phone holder in the center console. I had a short here which kept blowing the fuse to the nav screen. I ended up just disconnecting the wiring behind the passenger seat as it is quite difficult to replace!

It's a common area for a short as the wire can rub every time you open and close the center cubby hole.
