Stumbled upon this video of two utter numpties blocking the lanes on the motorway.

I think I would have burst his 2 rear tyres so he can't proceed and undertake him.

What would you do?

Definitely not legal. Even if the lane was actually closed (seems it isn't) you are not supposed to anything to endanger other traffic, causing a huge traffic jam endangers over traffic, especially encouraging pedestrians to get out of there cars on motorways.

If I was on a motorbike I'd just get off and walk it round them. That's the way I normally deal with idiots who think they have the right to impede my perfectly legal progress.

If I was in a car I'd probably do exactly as these guys have done and try and reason with them not to be utter morons.

Send this to the police, there's surely traffic violations.

They were all a lot calmer about it than I would have been!

This was discussed at length on the Crap Driving thread; general consensus is the blocker was a tool.

With the video evidence as clear as that and in view of all the utterly trivial nonsense that is apparently open to prosecution now, if that doesn't merit some form of punishment then I may become even more cynical (if possible).

They kept very calm, if I'd been there and somebody else lamped him I would think he had it coming. Should've taken his keys and chucked them on the opposite carriageway then driven round him. 4x4 and more importantly a KIA, so I suppose not entirely surprising.

The guy holding everyone up is a prick, exactly the same as pricks in HGVs insist on doing on dual carriageways and motorways.

The dashcam guy is a bit of a cry baby too with his bleating comments. However, at the start he says that the outside lane was closed two miles back. What does that mean? If a Red X then he shouldn’t have been in that lane either.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other if a Red X, plus I hate dashcam wkers.

All the BS propaganda empowers idiots like that to feel that they have the moral high ground, and are therefore justified, in behaving like that.

I would have ripped the keys out the ignition and launched them across the opposite carriageway.

Probably key-less start, and they would be in his pocket. ha!

At the start of the clip you can see all four lanes are open with a 40mph limit

Anger management issues.

In mitigation, you'd be pissed if you had to drive a Kia Sedona.

That guy lost all self respect and any feelings of self worth a while ago, I'd say.

Send it your local police - all lanes are clearly open. The guy is a part and needs to be explained by someone in uniform. Pretty sure there will be an offence that fits, although he won't get it. If it was Dorset he would definitely get a visit - in Hampshire he'd have to have murdered someone before they consider it serious enough.

The IAM recommends using all lanes up to an obstruction and then filtering in turn. Unless there is a red X in that lane. And here there was neither an obstruction nor a red cross.

He wouldn't do in the USA - someone would shoot him.

They are not dissimilar to the self-appointed forum police on PH.

This has been discussed before. I think I side with the guy blocking the motorway.

At 5:15 the dashcam footage has been cut to stop you seeing what the hold up was.
Whether the self appointed road policeman was doing something sensible or should've pulled over I don't know
But I'm deeply suspicious of that dashcam footage not showing why the road was blocked. Or cut to stop anyone seeing the subsequent gantry indications

As to all the people here who are upset. wouldn't any of you feel just a little guilty about driving up the right past hundreds and hundreds of cars stationary or were they all just idiots whose time is less important than yours?

Oddly enough I was stuck in exactly the same place last Saturday afternoon. It was a bit weird as all the traffic was going off the M62 at J24 even though only lanes 1 & 2 had red X's on the gantry right at the junction. There was nothing above lane 3, and no police of HATO at the junction.

People who got into lanes 1 and 2 early must have sat there for hours as lanes 3 & 4 traffic ploughed on and only pulled over at the slip road. paperbag

I'll hold my hand up as the sort of person who felt 'that way' and saw people as 'pushing in'. I didn't DLAC like that though. Just got indignant in my queue.

Then I started reading other people's views in here and how it polarised people and then realisation dawned that I was operating under some incorrect assumptions and now I will queue right up to the filter point but I have to then put up with everyone who doesn't see it the alternative way.

Short of a national advertising campaign on the media, it's never going to change......
