New car, 8-9k budget need ideas!

Looking to downgrade from my current car as putting some away for the house, which means ive got around 8-9k max to spend on a car.

Now i have a driving history aka my licence isnt clean, so my insurance is abit high.

For instance looking at insuring a BMW 1 Series 116i it is 1.4k....

Looking for some ideas, bit of luxury and comfort but low enough insurance so i can justify it.

Any ideas??

Alfa Giulietta Sportiva in either Petrol or Diesel form are good options & they're decent on insurance.
