Car identification

Anyone have any idea as to what make the blue car is on the right of the picture below? (this is the only pic I have of this car btw). I've tried a search but can't seem to find any that matches it, particularly that odd shaped rear. I'm sure someone here will identify it straight away.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looking at photos on the net I'd say it was an Audi 100s coupe, though the Renault 17 is a close match. Likely an Audi more than a Renault 17 given the location of said car. This was at a business (likely a breakers yard) somewhere in Wigan in 1991.

I can't explain why, but since the first time I ever saw one as a kid, I've always had a liking for the Renault 17!

Someone correct me if I'm talking bks but wasn't the R17 the first production car to have remote central locking as standard?
