Following an unmarked Blue Vectra estate out of a village in Beds this PM, we came to the end of the 30mph and into Nat Speed limit, i overtook in a sensible manor, and then went upto 86-90mph.

The Vectra (surprisingly) sped up to keep with me, and we did the next mile together, until coming into a village and 30mph limit again, i instantly slow down 30mph again.

It turns out it was an unmarked police car , the old blue lights started flashing in his front grill and i pulled over.

Nice chap reminding me that it was a 60mph limit that i took him on, and not an 86mph, told me to slow down, and i went off with tail between legs thinking how lucky i had just been !!!!

You probably wouldn't have been so lucky if you hadn't adhered to the 30mph limits.

Good on the copper, sensible policing

I have previously been effusive in my praise for any BiB doing a good job. I have also been excoriative of those BiB doing a bad job.

In this case dazren had already said, "Result"; my comment was an inverted recognition of the BiB's action ... made especially in the light of several police 'services' downsizing their TrafPol.

Sensible policing with a copper using his discretion. Let's have more of the same.

... and the copper has generated good feeling amongst a bunch of motoring enthusiasts.

Had a scamera been set up, the feeling would have been bad.

Watch and learn, Mr Clarke/Safety Partnerships, watch and learn.

But then again we would say that wouldn't we?
