KTM Superduke 1290 service
Discussion
It's just an oil change and a general check over. But I would go back to Fowlers to allow them to do the brake recall on it too at the same time. I'm booking mine in this week for it all, but the brake kits are not in til week of 5th.

Pretty sure PJH have just lost the KTM contract , Fowler’s or JD it is, Shame there’s no KTM dealer in Exeter as I would have one if there was!
TBH when there was one in Exeter they weren't much good.Never had a problem with JD Racing as long as you're thick skinned enough to put up with the banter! That's unfair, JD were very good, sorted a few items under and beyond warranty.
990SD had to have a valve check at 1st service, never needed shims changed in the 10 years I owned it.

Are Fowlers that bad?
You'd recommend another motorcycle dealer in those parts?
KTM specific, but:You'd recommend another motorcycle dealer in those parts?
Fowlers were unable to fix the throttle issue on my bike after several visits, two recoveries to the dealer, and literally a few months (I think I have ridden every courtesy bike at Fowlers).
I had the bike taken to Premier Bikes near Oxford, and they diagnosed and fixed it within a week.
Just my experience though. KTM customer services were actually very helpful.

My Superduke GT will be needing its first service soon.
I live near Exeter.
Choices are JD Racing in Saltash, PGH in Torquay, or Fowlers in Bristol where I bought the bike.
Any recommendations?
Should valve clearances be checked at the first service?
SP motorcycles exeter is the best choice.I live near Exeter.

SP Motorcycles, a great company.https://spmotorcycles.co.uk/
Anyone know what is the typical 18000 mile service cost for the 1290SDGT? Includes valve check which looks like it requires a fair bit of work to get access to cylinder heads. Has anyone found that valve clearances have been out of spec at 18k? My bike now almost 3 years old and 17k miles so options are pay up for dealer service, take the plunge and do it myself, or use nuclear option and trade for new bike.....
