2016 1 Series (F21) bonnet issues...

Evening all, I'm after a little advice.

Having had the bonnet of my F21 up last weekend, I noticed this week that it wasn't latched down fully on one side and the gap below the bonnet was slightly bigger at one side than the other. I spent time adjusting both bonnet latches (they screw in and out) but no amount of tinkering can make the gap even, although I have managed to get the bonnet properly latched down.

Has anyone else had this issue, and how did you solve it?

Also, would the dealer be able/willing to sort it out under the warranty?

Hi there,

I have an LCI F21 M140 and have had the bonnet up a few times. Only once has it not latched fully on both sides but that was purely down to me not dropping it from high enough.

Was it seated properly before you lifted it?

I'd be surprised if you had to adjust the latches at all. Call the dealer and explain that this is the first time you've lifted and noticed the issue. Can't imagine it'll be anything big to sort.

Try slamming the bonnet a bit harder when you shut it, as mentioned above - if you're not firm with it then it won't latch on one side. My F30 is the same.
