Printing Locked PDF Files?

Does anyone know how to print a locked pdf file please?

Standard acrobat security setting.

If the originator of the file has set the security setting to disallow printing, then you wont be able to.

You would have to have a full version of acrobat plus the password the originator used to set the security up in order to change those settings.

I ocassionally generate pdf's I don't want people to print and so I too, tick the 'Disallow Printing' box before locking down the file and distributing it. The end user is none the wiser until they try to print it, 'cos you don't need a password just to view the file. (although that option can be enabled as well)

you could try searching for a PDF to text converter or another PDF viewer such as ghostscript

Not 100% sure if this will work tho

You're only real option is to take screen dumps and print them that way...

Good idea, but i'd be pi***d off with Adobe if it did work!! One hopes they have designed the pdf lockdown properly.

isn't there a crack facility within linux, i understood that it was all written to break it all out from in there.
