Decided to give the plugs a look over this afternoon
Leads off easy, the extenders no B chance. They're the black ones not the old tin ones. Worried I broke the plug so stopped but is there a technique

Ive not seen the black ones but I found that rotating mine back and forth, whilst keeping upward pressure on them worked ok.

Yes, pull like bloody hell.

I don`t use them anymore, often the cause of faults more than the plugs or leads, have used plug socks for the last 18 months, been fine

I used some string - fed it underneath and then pulled upwards. Some took a fair bit of force but it got them all out.

Thanks
many years ago I broke the white ceramic body of a plug removing it with the usual plug socket and ratchet, think it was just on an A Series mini, not sure now.
Anyway since then I've been very wary of snapping another plug when I need the car the next day.

I just want to check the plugs over as I seem to have developed a slightly strange note in the exhaust, maybe plug or injector. That'll teach me to use 99 Octane from Tesco. Should stick with the basic Morrisons stuff ;-)

skiver.

If you decide on the socks try www.banggood.com 'Spark plug boot cable', about £15 for 8 delivered. I've had them on for around 15,000m and the plugs have never missed a beat, unlike when I had the extenders fitted. smile
