Got made redundent yesterday (no big deal i was looking anyway) and to cheer myself up decided on Fish and Chips at Chez Fred in between Poole and Bournemouth, grabbed the Mrs and an hour and a bit later pulled up outside the best chippy by far, fed and relaxed a blast back up to Herts and i'm a chilled out Bunny

If you like fish and chips you MUST try Fishers Fish and Chips on Fulham High Street - the rather odd little road that connects the end of the Fulham Palace Road and Fulham Roads to Putney Bridge. On the left just after the mini roundabout as you head twds the bridge - simply the best. And they have a little sit down restaurant bit as well. You won't regret it - recommend it to everyone I can - Also just a little bit further along Pappa et Ciccia if you wan treally good Italian BYO. Good luck with the job situation too.

I know that chippy well, it just wouldnt have clearded the cob webs out as well !!
Besides the pea fritters are to die for at Chez Fred !!

That takes me back, probably not the same owner but i used to get my lunch in there about 25 years ago.

My parents live near-ish to Fishers and I'm currently living near the Kingfish place. I must say that the Kingfish place is ok but Fishers beats it hands down!
The fish in Fishers is always awesome, and huge portions to boot!

yep that would have been me i think - having a coffee at Tinto across the road. Unforunately mine is down with Andy at APM at the mo - something starter motor related and hopefully not a big issue, fingers crossed.
We might have to set up a PH Fish and Chip shop users guide - it seems to have sparked some interest from Hughsie2's initial comment . The pea fritters sound very good - a gourmet reinterpretation of an old favourite, the mushy pea.
Are there any fish and chips shops that haven't got a "Best Fish and Chip Shop of the Day" award?
The best one is in Atlantis. Or course you need a plane, a boat and a deep-sea submersible to get there and I have heard that the chips can be a little soggy but the fish is apparently excellent. The mushy peas have been mushed by 40 x atmospheric pressure which I'm sure you'll all agree is the only way to do it.
