So recently got round to getting the LG soundbar (LAS445H) and Sony TV all setup, I had thought this would all be simple but is infact a pain

TV is on optical connection, and I have an Alexa Dot on Bluetooth (also tried AUX) - both devices connect fine however I find that if I start playing music through Alexa it will switch over to Optical after a few minutes, then rinse and repeat until you end up turning it off or pulling out the optical cable

Tried googling but nothing obvious, seriously tempted to throw the dot upstairs/ebay and get a full Alexa Echo (or Echo Plus) for downstairs, geting the optical cable out is a pain, as the soundbar is suspended on brackets under the sheft the TV is on

Sorry I can't help but I also have an LG soundbar, but connected to an LG TV. It's a pain in the arse to keep connected and then there are sync issues.

Not just me then, think I will get rid of the dot and just use the bar with the TV
