Uh-oh!

New zero tolerance approach suggested. Telegraph.

I guess the cash isn't being raked in fast enough, even with the introduction of 'Smart' motorways. They'd better get all the signs sorted out if this is for real.

Two people have started the same thread tonight.

How do things like this suddenly come around again?

Of course Mr Bangham is correct. He seems to have our care at heart and that has to be a good thing.
I wonder what priority he will put on the other aspect of modern stty driving.
Rhetorical question chaps. As you were ... we all know that answer. Sigh.

I wonder if they didn't get enough for this plate and need to top up the force's funds.

Where does he say about 1 MPH over the limit? I’d have thought there would be a quote to support that aspect.

Or was that part simply supporting the click bait revenue model the OP has fallen for (click > outrage > share > DM laugh to the bank)?

If this ever comes to pass they really need to review the current speed limits applied to certain sections of road:

New 40/50mph zones that were changed from NSL, often across whole counties "just because"
Borough/city wide 20mph zones - why does painting the number 20 on the road change anything?
30/40/50mph dual carrigeays, especially when culverted/properly barriered (A20/A2/A3 etc.)

Hell, if everything was made a 20mph zone (and I actually stuck to them) I'd never get out of 1st gear....literally

They’ve sorted out motorcycle theft etc, I guess it’s getting a bit quiet so they need to lower the bar to the granny driving to bingo.
