Targa/GTS questions

I have a couple of quick confirmations about the Targa/GTS range.

In the 997.2 all Targa's are 4WD (Targa 4 or 4S)? They did not make a 997.2 Targa GTS did they?

In 991.1 are all Targa's 4WD also? I'm aware they made a Targa GTS of this generation.

There was no 997.2 Targa GTS

All Targas are 4wd including 997.2, 991.1 and 991.2 GTS

A bit off topic...does anyone know why the Targa is 4wd. I assume it's because of the weight distribution ? i.e. adding some weight at the front helps negate the added weight at the rear.

My understanding is that it needs the wider track body of the 4wd version to offset the higher centre of gravity caused by the heavy roof up top. The handling would be too compromised with a narrow track.
