Hi there - wondering if anyone on the forum who works at BMW is able to help me get the full BMW print out on my car's history? Its an E39 M5 - full BMWSH. BMW has given me the dates its visited the various service centres but not what was done. I'm just trying to compile a full history for the car and it doesn't have all the receipts.

Thanks in advance!

You will need to contact the dealers which carried out the work

Every so often there's someone on here who offers to do it. Happy to provide a bottle of something in exchange.

Can't you just go into a dealership and smooth talk a service advisor ?

BUT in my experience, of several M3s I checked, the computer records will not always be complete. I've seen complete service books, invoices confirmed by dealership that did the work, but no corresponding record of this on the computer.

These days, the dealerships only tend to print out the history of the vehicle that relates to work carried out by their own dealership, and not other dealerships, and the service advisor's are under strict instructions not to release any other information due to possible legal issues.

(TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a sack-able offence to give out information not relating to the dealership, due to being a breach of company policy. If that is the case, would you risk it for a customer?)

I absolutely dislike the BMW service work not being backed with paperwork. It’s a right pain for buyers such as myself looking at used cars. Additionally when I come to sell my car I want a fistful of service papers that will help my buyer to a decision. Why do BMW not offer paperwork?
